So you mean they don't share the playlists? so if I beatgrid a track with S4 it won't be beatgridded in TPRO?

Cheers Karlos & Chris - having spent £600 on my VCI set up this year I won't be forking out straight away but it's nice to know I'll have the usablility of both should the time come (which will hopefully be around April).

My mate is looking to get one after Xmas so I will make sure I get up to speed on his which raises anotgher point. I assume you can still run Traktor Pro and S4 software linked via the MIDI clock (or some other way?) for back to back sets? I take it NI haven't put in some clever gubbinz to sort that have they?
MBP, 15.4", Ableton Live 8 Suite, Novation Remote SL, Pioneer XDJ-RX, Traktor, VCI 100SE!

Ooh yeah if you grid a track in S4 then import it to TPRO the grid goes with it as its stored in the file.

They dont share playlists. You would have to export a playlist and then import it.

The S4 folders are separate from the TPRO folders. They dont share any settings folders at all. That would cause issues.

After playing with mine last night I have a question.

How do I copy what's currently in the Loop Recorder into one of the sample decks?

    Cheers

Was on holiday end of September then got back and moved house right after the first gig I did at beginning of October, I had no money for a whole month after that so couldn't get any internet hooked up. It was like losing your phone, felt well detached!!

Been back on here though in the last week/ 2 weeks thougyh. Nice being back.

Got a regular gig out of that first one though which is awesome, so happy. Next date is on 19th!!

U cool? (Sorry for the OT)

Wow we had parallel lives for a while. I moved house (actually i remember now that you were moving) and i had no internet for 2 weeks. The Horror... i could barely function as a human being.

Cool news on the gig. Regular?

Sorry for the OT. Us Brits like to natter eh.

Can you do this from time to time to keep things in sync between the two, or is this a one time shot during install only?

Yeah its only during first install. But you can replicate it kinda...

Unfortunately theres no mechanism to do it automatically but if you keep S4 updated and use that you could just copy the Collection.nml and import it to Traktor Pro.

Remember that this will copy collection/Playlists etc it wont copy actual track files so your Tracks will have to be imported before hand. iTunes makes this really easy as you can just import new tracks into both programs direct.

Also it wont copy your TSI changes but yeah, you can just keep doing the collection import and you will have perfectly mirrored programs.
