Andy Spence I totally agree with you! No point cutting corners to only finish short in the end! I want something I can grow with and upgrade accordingly!

PHAIDON I checked out Small LCD's not much available according to google and ebay AUS is down atm but heres what I found so far!

Nearly $600 but with touchscreen functionality that's not too bad! I'm going to research this flight case computer option a bit more man! Because I might be able to mount it all in a way that is alot more CLUB friendly! Considering I already got a good computer to do it with! Thanks man!

Thats Toshiba's hot, reminds me of mine, go for it man, there are "freeware programs" that are good, like GameBooster that pause processes that come on a new computer regardless of what you download or install that interrupt Traktor so be open minded when it comes to PC hacks.. might even want to follow a few things in my thread on setting up the ultimate windows system for traktor... http://www.djtechtools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9599

theres only one problem with toshiba : WINDOWS

no matter how good your laptop is , if its a windows, then you're in a lot of trouble

Windows XP is okay but Vista or 7? I dont think so

hah man when you start producin on a eleven year old used Compaq (originally from a pawn shop) making tracks with 10/+ instruments that all have have 10/+ effects each, you've got to figure out a thing or two to get things bangin'! luckily everything paid off & I got my Toshiba laptop (a little older model than on that link) & Albeton Suite, Komplete, Traktor, SSL, FL XXL, CS4, DVJ, & all the other random things my I have on here all run great, just make sure it's Windows 7 Genuine & you should be set.

haha that's a pretty bold statement... Windows, lynx. or OS X, pick your poison. Depending on how you do things yr computer can do one of two things, rock the party, or blow up in your face. It's about the user.

Yes technologically can be both best friend AND worst enemy!

Hey what does a MONITOR to be used with a computer require?

Is it VGA? whatever that is? Cause I'm looking at mini lcd monitors and some say they are only for CCTV, etc!

Can anyone give me some info so I can narrow it done and find a good one?

yeah dude, my opinion is :

ITS POSSIBLE to get a rock-solid windows system for gigging - but you do have to make some efforts to fine-tune the system

My main laptop is a macbook 2.16ghz with 4gb of ram which i also use for my part time study (SAE College audio engineering - i use a lot of Logic) - My macbook has plenty of other software other than traktor/serato and it doesnt make the macbook any less reliable

My backup system is an asus laptop (windows xp) 2.2ghz and 4GB ram - the only thing installed is Traktor, Serato, Itunes, and thats it. seems to run traktor fine except for occasional "funny things" happening (random freezes - bearable but noticable)
im pretty confident in using my windows laptop in gigging but given the choice i will always prefer the macbook over it ~
