Serato has that live feed - personally i am jelous Not enough to make me go Serato but its still cool - i could see how it could be enough for some people to use Serato instead of Traktor.

Yeah, I have to say, that feature was really tempting to get me to throw Serato on my old laptop and figure out how to transfer audio between them at the same time.

I tried the Livefeed and cool idea, but for me Traktor is the best DJ program. I mean if big names such as Carl Cox and Ritchie Hawtin swear by it and trust it in front of thousands, so it must be good stuff...Serato is stable and minimal and works and very popular.
I think it depends on the type of music you play too.. I think Serato is more geared to hip hop.

I never let "who is using it" ever influence my purchases- for me it comes purely down to functionality which only the individual who plans to use the software can make that decision.

Lots of people say Serato is geared for hip hop but i really do disagree there too ! Serato is geared for mixing all sorts of genres not just hip hop.

yeah, keep in mind that those big name DJs are getting paid good money, and being given lots of free stuff (and probably have more stable software versions and actual access to tech support) than the rest of us. Not exactly a truly neutral opinion.

I do not think they are paid big money, they just play with what they like.
Ritchie was on FS,then Serato , then Live and now Traktor...what is next and cool, he would switch.
He is not playing out on Traktor Pro, so he has no real contract I think or he would have to be promoting the one they are selling now.

i use ssl and mostly mix. why? because its paid for, works on my powerbook g4 and i turn it on and it just works. that lets me just play. but at the same time i have huge respect for anyone who can lay down a phat beat however they do it. to each their own so try out alot then make your decision...good luck cause it only gets harder every day with all the cool stuff that is out.

Well, looking at the resolution of the Vinyl, I would say Traktor > Serato.
Don't know about how bad it would wear though.
