First comment: no. This artist has every right to do what he did. No need to make fun of him because he made sure the law was enforced. Also, if he has sold 10 million copies already, he doesn't need more 'promotion' and especially not by amateur DJs.
Second comment: Creativity should be promoted in a non-profit situation. But is this situation non-profit? No, because even though somebody might not be selling his work without royalties, the unknown dj IS getting the promotion, maybe get a gig or something. Which means money. no directly, yes indirectly
Finally, I know I'm a dick by saying this all and I know I upload mixes and I love everyone for doing it but if it is removed, you have no legal grounds to fight the removal. (and I agree with the law, for that matter)
