I don't pay for anything, music, software, films, I even steal the bandwith from my neighbours, everything is free! I love bittorrent!

Just out of interest if i own a shed load of vinyls that i want to digitalize. Where do i stand downloading ripped copies from the net? If I was to be reported by my ISP then investigated would i get done?

IMHO you're free to download an illegal copy.
Why bother converting them if someone else did it for you

My thoughts exactly but then you hear of all these people getting court summons from people just monitoring the fact that you are downloading copyright material.

There are so many sites and forums that just put up music links for leechers, they even leech between themselves. In my opinion finally what you are doing is filling the wrong people pockets. People that earn per click advertisements stealing efforts from others, and ultimately dont give a dime for the cost or time spent on that piece of music. Ultimatley the money goes to another industry that has nothing to do with arts or music...
If you consider yourself that you want to give something back and ultimately make the industry grow... why not spend a couple of $ on it

    Sorry man, not pointing anyone.

I do agree with your point, cause you once bought the music, nothing bad there.

Truth is that if you own a vinyl and download a cd rip you're still a wrongdoer..
Also, torrents upload automatically. Blogs or rapidshares would be legit if you own the cd.

In the Netherlands there is no law prohibiting the downloading of music, only uploading.
