Yeah I figured I'd need new software, just wondering if I also needed the audio 8.

But I think I need those multicore cables too.

You don't really need the multicore cables. They are specifically for a club set up where you want to be able to hook up dvs with minimal fuss. If you are just using it at home and mostly leaving it set up, no advantage to having the mulitcore cables.

Cant speak for Traktor but I know in Serato depending on if you have an SL1 or and SL3 it isnt a big deal to play vinyl. SL1 has through channels and with the SL3 you put a special track on for through play. I assume Traktor probably has a way to set a deck to play through.

One thing to watch out for with serato is if the RCAs are damaged there is a good chance that when you engage the DVS, your UI will start scrolling up to the first song in your library and automatically load it while playing your track backwards. It's not a common problem but it is a sure way of knowing if your RCAs need replacing

thats a great deal! snag them up if you haven't already. As far as the mixer goes, I use to use a gemini mixer and found that the pots and faders were decent, but I swapped the cross fader for an innofader and picked up a pair of art dj phono preamps because I found the onboard ones to be pretty crappy. 150 bux in mods later and it was a pretty tight little mixer for a total cost of $220.

On the deal> getting used 1210s is fine, even if they are in poor condition they are still usable and service fees aren't of the roof (i paid like 40-50 bucks *converted* to completely get in shape really messed up 1210TT)

you dont need multicores - its just multiple normal RCAs straped into one big cable, so you still can play regular vinyl on your setup .. if you don't have them, no big deal, you just use couple more RCAs... refer to traktor manual for possible external mixer / DVS setups

One more thing. Went and checked out the tables today. I checked the middle red dot and instead of staying still it kind of wobbled back and forth. Does that mean it's busted or can that be calibrated?
