I WON I WON.
TODAY IN CLASS. [college btw] i took my 5 points i have above in my first post and i argued against my professor and he didn't know how to reply back so i won, and dj is legal and legit. kthx see ya later kid.
so now i'm going to write an essay on (due next wednesday) essay is
intro = many people believe sampling music is theft. however, dj's are entertainers who throws a show for people, not steal other peoples hard earned work.
body paragraph 1 = it's leit for DJ's to spin other people songs as long as the dj's don't claim it as their own. For example, DJ's are not selling and or making a profit of any sort from other peoples work. No honest DJ would ever claim a son of someone elses is his. He plays it because he likes the song, and thinks others will enjoy it.
body paragraph 2 = When a dj spins somebody else music, they are marketing another artist product which would increase the oriinal artist/producers sales rather than the person(DJ) playing the song at the club who doesn't profit. The song being played at the club has no bearing on the artists income. In fact, the song being played has increased the income for the original artist, if the song is good enough to get the crowds attention.
body paragraph 3 = the artist is paid a royalty for every time said tracks or albums are purchased. the club pays a licensing fee so they can play whatever type of music they want in the club without it turning into a "you played my song, i'm goin to sue you"
yes of course each body paragraphs are ideas and will be expanded while i write my essay. i'm the only student today who battled and defended my topic w/ the professor and probably the only student out of 30 other students who has all this down n ready to begin that paper. the point of this essay and every paper everyone has to write is just to defend w/e they choose to write, so in this paper i will be defending dj's.
thanks for those who contributed
