I think I'm going to get the vestax spin for starters..... Its cheap and it seems ok for a beginner

Keep in mind, the spin is optimized for software other than traktor (idk if there is a decent mapping out yet?). Vestax is coming out with another version, the typhoon, aimed at traktor users, if thats the way you want to go with things.

yeah I think starting with traktor wpuld be an advantage when I eventually get the vci100SE

well, the typhoon is coming out soon. Maybe think about a bcd 3000? It wouldnt be as high quality as the spin I think, but it would be cheaper from the start, and has been proven to be a good beginner device...
