This is so frustrating, I too have been keeping a close eye on deckadance, and it's so close to usable for me except for a couple of really important things.

Firstly, you need to be able to load the BMP from the mp3 tag.

Secondly, the VST Effects need to be sent out through each of the decks respective outputs, not just the master. As it is now they are completely useless for someone that is mixing outside of the box.

Does anyone know if the key-lock has improved, because it used to be horrendous!

Key lock is still as bad as it was, but I think they said with the next update (which was supposed to be released 2+ weeks ago) it will be fixed.

I originally bought deckadance, then after getting frustrated I went and bought traktor. After more frustration I'm back at using deckadance again, although not satisfied with either.

I've never had it crash- in fact, I feel it's more solid/stable than traktor is. The problem is it's soooo much less flexible. I mean, the midi settings are a complete joke. But in the end, for all its [many, many] shortcomings, I like it a little better than traktor. I think for most people here it won't be up to snuff, but I'd say, check back in a year or two to see how it's come along.

Load deckadance into a program like Ableton then split the different channels that deckadance sends out to into different Ableton channels, that way you can put VST effects on whichever deck you like.

"zplane élastique v2.1" if im not mistaken this is the same time stretch technology that is used in Ableton? If i'm right then the key lock should be great now!

Yeh I think I'll have to do that Bento. I have been kind of lazy lately so I haven't had a go at that yet .

"zplane élastique v2.1" is the same time-stretch engine that is used in Ableton I believe. If I'm not mistaken then the key-lock should be allllll goooood

    EDIT: yup
    ableton Live 5, 6, 7 (élastique efficient V1.3)
    M-Audio Torq 1.5 (élastique efficient V1.3)
Native Instruments Traktor 2, 3 (élastique efficient V1.0)

Yeah, the algorithm license is quite expensive, maybe thats why it took them so long to implement it, didn't want to pay cold turkey without knowing the actual demand

It always makes me suspicious when a company closes their forums to non owners. Make you think they don't want you to be able to see all the nasty issues the program has before you buy it. Sounds like DeckDance has a major PR problem.
