Even though you said you don't like mac,
Just buy one, for a dj or any performer its the best option. Because i had windows 7 running and to be honest it was utterly s**t.

I used to be a wingeek, but after buying my MBP I live by this quote:
Though I have to warn you:Once you go Mac, you'll never go back!
1x firewire port
2x USB port.
Hubs required with your setup.

yes i noticed that they only have 2 usb but is there any difference in the ram or hd what should i get how much of each (man these are expensive).Would it be worth it to buy a usd one for my first one
I bought my MBP for around €2000,- last september.
4GBs of RAM, 2.66Ghz C2D CPU and 320GB harddrive.
It's a purchase I have never regretted, as I have done with some of my intel PC purchases.

Well I am looking for my first mac ,was at sisters for dinner tonight and she just got one .Was I impressed I am off to start shopping around for one thanks all for the push and the help . Still a few questions I just bought 2 hard drive 1tbt each I am in the middle of putting all my music on them and running them threw platinum notes will this till work on mac
Yeah Mac all the way!
Any Mac now is MORE than powerful enough to run TP, but like any computer you should buy the best you can afford to minimize future-proofing. I would however, not buy the memory from Apple... it's hyper expensive, instead do your RAM upgrade with Kingston, you can buy from them direct and guaranteed for your specific machine on their sight.
its more importmant that nothing(mean for hardware) is active in your os. I recommend dual boot. One OS for DJing(here is mine version,it sound complicating but its not, removed all stuff from XP read it http://www.djtechtools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7003), and one for regular use.
Its not important that XP will be abandoned by Microsoft, if its working with your dj software now it will be working for at least couple of years. And one more thing I heard that DDR3 have more latency then speed so maybe its good to go with DDR2. The grater latency is accepted only if the DDR3 is high speed above 1333MHZ or something.
