For me also it was things like this little number that made me start thinking hip-hop and edm were kind of linked...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7t8eoA_1jQ

Got me from hip-hop into "dance" music

EDIT: The full 12" mix (which i have 2 copies of on vinyl) is the real nuts!

always been into edm since forever, think it's because my dad listened to it, so grew up with all the 'old skool' stuff being played at home.

charly by prodigy is first track to ever stick in my head, probally because i loved the advert, think i was like 5 or 6?

I played that Robin S. mix last week at a house party and the people weren't feeling it, which is a shame because I love it :/

    Really?

I thought for most people, "Show Me Love" was a timeless dance/house track?! I'm 98% sure if I dropped that song, people would dig it!

    'Club Organ' anyone?

I was a Senior in High School when I picked up Renaissance 2- The mix collection randomly off the shelf at a music store I worked at. I had gotten into prodigy and the chemical brothers a little before that but this album pretty much changed my life.

Moved off to college the next year 96' and got to spend more than a few nights and mornings with Sasha and John Digweed at my favorite club of all time- "Simon's" in Gainesville Florida.

This song makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up every time I hear it.

I was (and still am) a huge Radiohead fan, so the likes of the album Kid A were my first introduction to a more electronic sound...
Then I ran into Slam by Pendulum in my final year of high school, ended up getting Hold Your Colour and have been hooked on Drum 'N' Bass since, pity about Pendulum's more recent work though.

Royksopp's Melody AM started my passion for Electronic music:

And it was really when I heard Kollektiv Turmstrasse's Tristesse that I realized how amazingly intelligent and beautifulTechno-ish music could get:
