Preferences -> Output Routing -> Top of the screen click 'external'
If there is no such option: you're not using traktor.
If somehow the text 'external' is unclickable:
Maybe try Preferences -> Audio setup and select the right 'Audio Device' from the drop-down menu..

cheers for all the advice. Ended up deleting traktor altogether there now before looking at this thread
i ended up getting traktor 1.1 of my old laptop and it worked alrite though all my midi configerattions were wiped going to try and get something sorted this weekend but thanks once again for all the help
