i also got my VCI 100 without power supply and also freaked out at first, but then i found out that it is normal, because the power supply is optional.
about usb powering - i am hooking up to my usb ports 4 devices: vci, x-session pro, novation nio 2|4 and mouse, each one to separate usb port. do i have any chances to get in trouble because of that?
