@ MiL0, jd62: Thanks guys!
@ photojojo: You can't see it in the video but I had the crossfader on my DDM 4000 all the way to the left. Hope that answers your questionMixing externally btw.
What you can see however is the lack of knobs on the virtual channel faders. Shame to anyone who didn't notice this is externally mixed :P
I think i'm going to start using this trick. Very nice video, simple and to the point.
Kudos on the video. Besides leaving out how you dealt with the volume/crossfader, it's spot on.
Thanks for the feedback!
I really enjoyed making this, so it's great for me to see this kind of appreciation from a communtiy I respect![]()
One way you might be able to improve is to do the procedure one time through, then go back pausing the video and putting bullet points up in text on the video. Then run through the procedure again. That way you show them what your going to do, then show them how to do it, then reinforce the lesson by showing them again.
Aah, I spotted the DDMin the background. Can hardly see you flicking the fader, but there aren't that many camera angles that look fancy where all your kit would be in view.
Moar!
If you have a couple more tricks like this you probably could submit them to Ean and get paid for the article.
