    I don't see how its designed for turntable style mixing? Im sure many different style dj's could benefit from what the x1 offers. To me tho if I wanted turntable style mixing I probally wouldn't buy the S4.

    Its completley meant for EDM DJ's. Its the competion to "playing" a live set with Ableton and using loops and samples to layer tracks and beats which geared more towards trance music than hip-hop. I think what NI has done is tried to incorporate functions so that it appealse to more than one audience but it clearly was not designed towards a turntablis style of DJ. It was designed for guys like Dubfire.

    This maybe an old thread, but with your DJM-700 your conna need an Audio 8 to get 4 decks out of Traktor. Audio 8+Mixer+X1 = more than an S4 and less functions.
