i see that you live in orange county..or maybe you do you have a 714 area code...if you wanna see a midi controller in action...i use the vci-100 come out to the detroit bar in costa mesa this saturday...you can see what its all about. my set is from 10-11:30...you can even stand in the dj booth with me and you can see how I use it...maybe give you a glimpse of that people who are dancing dont give a crap what you spin on...they care about the music...
then you can ask the other djs what they think about it....cause when i first started playing there...they were like uhhh....yeah...a microwave dj......

but now there like that doos spins some good shit...so..anyhow. ..thats all i got to say

I think it's a good idea to get some experience on turntables or CDJs at some point, because it will help with the foundational elements of djing. Kinda like learning to crawl b4 u walk, walk b4 u run, etc.

U never know when ur over at some dudes house and ur the superstar dj and they want u to jam with them; or ur at the club and for whatever technical glitch reason u gotta throw on some CDs instead of your ideal setup.

id think this out and post a good bento-style post but i gotta run
    peace

iDJ2 and Cortex 300 are not midi controllers, they are standalone all-in-one computer/audio interface/mixer/media players

As has been mentioned, what do you want the turntables for?

as of right now.. its a possibility.. but now I'm thinking of gettin a keyboard.. I'm already waiting on my vci se.. which has been and eternity.. right now...haha...

and turntables what for.. maybe as a backup.. and to mess around with at home.. and maybe a gig here and there... I'm gonna be gettin that traktor package that includes the sound card program and coded vinyl as well as the cd's.. might as well use it... but as of now only a possibility...

well see most likely it will be a keyboard cuz i wanna get into producing as well...

    Very True,

Plus there is still a lot off tunes out there that are only available on this format.
Ripping Vinyl is what I mainly use tt these days, I've been at it for the last 3 years, pain in the ass, especially when you get an urge to mix out of it, getting lazy these days and ordering exact tunes on CD, download if available...

Vinyl collection is always great to have, and a joy to shop for (girlfriend thinks otherwise though)....

I love being digital but I want turntables to add scratching to my sets, until those turntable midi controllers come out. was thinking about ammobox
