The reason I snicker is because of the lack of control in transition. Everything is perfectly in beat and the song's just fade over. At best you can slam on the one. Some of my friends go as far as to say real DJ's dont even use the X fade. I was like lolwhut?! But I kept my mouth shut. Do you guys agree with this statement? If not, do you think the other two software suites are better suited to compliment a dynamic DJ?
I'm going to go ahead and feed the troll.

First…I DJ with only Ableton. I have had various demos of traktor on my computer for years, and I always end up deleting them when I need the disk space. Never seen anything that would make me move away from SSL when I was on that…and I've never seen anything that would make me seriously move away from Live now.

Watch some videos. Seriously. Most of them suck, but they at least show you how wrong you are about the software, though if you've only seen the default screen I can see how you get that impression.

Two…I've never used a crossfader to mix. Not once. I've used it for scratching but not very often. Again…watch a video.

Before you laugh at your friends, you might want to see if they know what they're talking about next time.
