Djm 2000 or djm 800 or xone 92 + 3 cdj 2000's. That right there is what is in or will be in most mega club enviroments. Check out dancetrippin.tv and see what those guys use. Honestly if I had that i dont even think id use traktor. There is something about showing up to a club and plugging in one hard drive that ia super appealing. If you do go the traktor route dont forget an awesome dj only laptop + 2 x1s

Buying all the top equipment up-front is counter productive. It's too overwhelming.

All you need is software and manuals to get started. LEARN THE BASICS FIRST! Once you reach the limits of what you can do with the equipment you've got, THEN you can upgrade if you think you'll benefit from more expensive gear.

Put some one that's never DJ'd before in front of £3k of gear and they'll stand there scratching there head for 20mins.

Put them in front of some software and a manual, and in 20 mins they'll be well on their way to mixing records!

Being rich ain't gonna give him an advantage in learning the basics. The basics is where WE ALL have to start.

This, but I would recommend the DB4 or that new Pioneer monstrosity if he just has to spend the money. The DB4 probably has a little less learning curve. And very well may be the better mixer. 2 Technics, 2 CDJ 2000, Midi Fighter, a huge Mac, some lights to spice up his little parties.

If you're thinking CDJ2000s then you may just aswell get the matching mixer (DJM2000) aswell.

expensive gear dosent make you better and cdj-2000 for learning is overkilling and limited for what new kind of djs do with MIDI controller. If hes doing it to get friends and womans then forget it now your not doing it for the right reason.
