    ^ set your software volume to around -3db and then just control the volume on your hardware. I like to keep my hardware volume just shy of maxed. Gives me a little bit of room to work with. Then I put the software volume a tthe level needed. Some guys go as low as -8db.

    Remedy: Leave your software set between -8db and -3db and use your hardware to adjust the output.
