    Hi pier,

check out the aiaiai tma-1 ive had these cans for over two weeks and i am loving them... as for isolation they are great even for on ear design... it felt snug on the ears with little discomfort... soundwise i think they are awesome nice punchy mids, lows are tight not overpowering and the highs are crisp... but if you are used to highs on the senns you might not like the tma-1 in my opinion... my suggestion is try as many headphones u can in the end its what your ears like matters the most

    cheers

Absolutely yes. Also custom fit IEM's will give a greater dB reduction than generic IEM's.

    From http://www.sensaphonics.com/faq.html
How much ambient noise do they block out?
Despite competitive claims of equal or greater isolation, our research audiologists find that silicone material blocks out more sound than plastic. (Have you ever seen plastic ear plugs?) The super soft gel silicone used in our custom earphones and ER Series ear plugs reduces external sounds by at least 26dBA across all frequencies, the highest isolation available. Our research indicates that the actual isolation from products using plastic or acrylic, even with a soft canal portion, is only 18 dB A.

Here's what I was looking for.

The Etymotic ER4's are specced at:
98% (35 dB - 42 dB) noise isolation —highest of any earphones or headsets on the market today
. This would increase when used with custom molded earpieces.

The ER4's are pricy, but they are one of, if not the, standard reference driver for IEM's.

Ear plugs are gr8. I have these, got them with phone.

I carry them to gigs, just to have a backup.
Note that these are probabbly worst plug headphones.

If you want to get good ones, for less money, get sennheiser and a custom foam earplug. Or even some from Walkman series of Sony.

Thanks for the info. If they can provide around 40db of reduction that can be interesting!

I don't love IEM for djing... but if that's the price for keeping my ears safe, so be it.

BTW even their sub 100$ models offer the same ammount of isolation :O
