I've warded off 14 years of drunk punters stumbling with beers, never an accident. Of course it's the chill, at-home moment that does it, right?

I like the phone in the coffee idea. Muahhahah!

@Zac, feel for ya man. Been ther my self.
I left a can of beer in my gig bag about 5 years ago. It split and totally soaked my iBook.

It still functioned but the screen was effed. I used it for a week with a 19" Dell monitor and then sent it in to Apple.
Needed a new Logic board. Yikes, £400. Luckily my g/f worked at te Apple resellers and she managed to get it fixed on my Apple care which doesnt cover accidental damage. The guy at the repair place was cool although he did say that "its stank of beer"

    Hope it works out bro.
Made me laugh (tl;dr that is). Feel your pain bro, my computer turned out fine when it happened to me, hope the same happens for you!

Very well done on the story. I was completely engrossed in the moment and, I too, was crying on the inside. Very sad to hear, but crossing fingers.....now, that all will be ok.

Looking forward to an equally immersive success story to counteract the Oh Noes! vibe.

Wow that sucks. You should be fine though, my mbp has survived a spill from a long island and a direct hit (full glass worth) of a sea breeze and it works fine despite half the back lights not working and the keys being sticky from time to time.
