Other DJs might give you shit (And probably will) for using a controller, or just a laptop, or whatever they aren't using, because unfortunately we are in one of those trades that are heavily populated with egocentric, self important fools who will try and make themselves feel better by making you feel worse.

But i've never ran across a promoter or club/pub owner that gives a shit how the music is controlled as long as it gets people drinking and dancing.

So i shouldn't see why your equipment should matter in you getting booked.

Only thing that matters about getting to grips with the club technology is if your controller fails and you have to jump on the CDJs.
In which case if you're not confident beatmatching on them (I'm fine on most turntables but i just find the pitching a pain on most CDJs i've used, but i haven't used the newer high end stuff) it always pays to have a few CDs with tunes you know might fit that have nice intro's/outro's with no beat, so you can just wing it.

Yeah I don't care about that shit either, my main issue is if the club owner will pick the CDJ over me if I have a controller, I mean I'll learn and master the CDJ's IF that's a must but I'm just not sure on what's the future or the easiest way. And I'm talking about gear wise, not the easiest way to fame.

sure but im not spinning at mega clubs or nothing like that. Yet . if u produce ur own music no one cares how u play it live.

Also, dont tell booking agents or whom ever is booking u what u use. Let it be a surprise.

+1 here in response to your previous question.

Will DJs give you shit about it? Sure. As was mentioned before, people also caught flak about the BPM readout on CDJs. Too bad, though, because they're not the ones writing your check and club owners and people on the dancefloor don't care or even know what gear you're using.

And in all honesty, your work on the social/business side is gonna matter a lot more for getting booked than how you're mixing.

    and this.

Everything is so accessible and the DJing community is so large now that there are tons of people pretty much sounding exactly the same, and you have to offer something better than just playing other people's tracks. Whether that's crazy DMC stuff, production, or whatever else you can muster up, you have to give people a reason to book you over all the other options. Beatmatching is not going to get you hired.

Cool, that pretty much confirms what I already think and know and that's kinda why I am putting more focus on networking and getting to know the right ppl all over the world, and have been traveling the last year making sure to build strong connections all over.
    Good answer, man.

    Appreciate it.

HAHA! You know you are old when you know what is was like before the cell phone, I mean made a date with someone you were pretty much F*cked if they didn't show up...As for the internet, it pretty much just feels strange to think about how we survived without it, and what we did during those days.

lol well thank u for making me feeling like the old fart. LOL

WE lived just fine b4 the internet. It was called BBSes. Bullition board systems. it was like going to one web page at a time. U had to dial out to each differnt BBS. so its like dialing a # to go to myspace. then a differnt one for Dj tech tools. also prodigy & then AOL god Those were dark times. Dark times indeed.

However we were the first house on the block with DSL. so i mean yeah we were way ahead of everyone else. LOL. I was rocking just a cell phone (no land line) circa 1999 with my NEXTEL flip phone, with 2 way hand held. OH YEAH.

god and im only 31. LOL:eek:

I remember my old Tiscali dial-up at 1p per minute, lololol.

I've had quite a few instances where my phone has been fucked and i've had to kick it oldschool and use a phone box
