I was thinking of making one but to be honest I dont think I would use it. Maybe on a demo, I am not to sure.

I dont have a name drop, I really need to work on one. Heck I really want the guy that does the voice overs for Power 106.

Do you say yay or nay for name drops? During live sets, mixtapes, etc?

Would only use it in mixtapes, demos and podcasts.

Not during any live(in the club) DJ work.

It really depends on on the crowd - dj elitist haters gonna hate no matter but if you are a DJ without big exposure it is a great way to make the most of a good support slot. That way kids will actually know who you are.

So yes it is cheesy but it is effective marketing in the right situation.

I used one for NYE....my first real BIG electro gig.

No one knows me in that scene yet. Psytrance I am well known....but not Electro....so i dropped one.

I heard people saying...WHO IS THIS GUY.....WHY HAVE I NEVER HEARD OF HIM!

So the Name on the laptop and the drop helped I recon!


But yeah.....won't do it at every gig.
