Yeah and that's what im getting at. Theres folks out there with more money than time. Those folks don't sit around a forum, they go pay a professional to get taught. I've seen tons of wealthy guys hire a personal trainer when they could just pick up a book and read it or search the internet. Same goes for DJ's. In Miami there's a Scratch Academy with all sorts of students.

I'd think with a competitive price these guys would clean house. If not online classes then perhaps at the store they could offer these. Imagine an indepth midi mapping class with Ean or Flashflooder. I know many would sign up for that.

My point is that I don't care how much money you toss away, the best way to learn something is fiddle with it on your own and get little bit of guidance on the side. The things I am best at I have learned by myself, with a little bit of guidance.

I sit here and fuck around on my S4 and Maschine and whenever I run across something I need help with I look around here / ask around here.

My point is, if you truly care to learn it, and want to be good at it, don't toss money at people - simply pick up the instrument / piece of equipment / etc and just start playing (or whatever).

Sorry if this was a dumb thread, I just felt outraged that someone is out there asking like that, and they haven't even bothered checking Eans amazing blog / website / forums out.

EDIT: Ohh and on a side note, anyone else find Ean's answers pretty polished while Q's were ... uhhh ... idk ... different (I'm NOT hating on Q, he is amazing at his craft). I was really impressed with Ean though.

Q's an interesting cat; you should follow him on Twitter. He talks more about aliens, pyramids and health food than DJ'ing.

I'm taking piano lessons this summer......

Don't know if I could just pick that up and be good at it or by reading forums....maybe but doubtful

Some techniques really need to be learned....scratching for djs could be the only thing that would require someone else to be there.

Everything else can be picked up online IMO.

I also think about all the equipment that dubspot uses maybe that is why its so expensive.

Multiple licenses of traktor/serato/torq/protools/ableton...and thats just software.

Probably more money in that place than a decent studio.
