I'm just showing some quotes from others, on another forum. I haven't messed with this myself yet, so the statements do not reflect the experience of the poster, lol. But from what Laite said, using the thru option would leave deck D open for sample/track deck.

Using the Grounding Screw on the back of the Kontrol S4.
A turntable has a ground cable that needs attaching to a Grounding Screw .
