Looks kinda interesting, though the remapping is kinda annoying as they will all be labelled wrong.
Are they? Cuz really the kontrol x1 looks near perfect...but I read it's not ideal for EQ. Personally as long as they feel good, I see no reason as to why they couldn't be...maybe that thread I was reading was regarding something else...or maybe they meant the kontrol as an overall internal mixer.
Yeah I do use gain knobs, they are on the APC40. Basically one section of 8 on the APC40 is master volumes (headphone, mix, and master), the other 4 being gains. Then the other panel is all effects.
Are the kontrol x1 knobs endless? I'd prefer not but...if they feel good then i might settle since it looks like such a good product.
(edit: the knobs that would be used for the EQ...they don't look endless like the ones below but i just wanna check..)

The EFX one are plain normal one (regular pot, 0-127 value), while Browse & Loop one are encoder (endless). Use the encoder for gain, the top for Eqs.
I've got an X1 and I've just mapped it for EQ today with TP2 in mind. I have to say that I find the knobs perfect for this purpose. Nice sturdy feel and they centre click too. Buttons either side of each knob are perfect for EQ kills and they can all be remapped with a second layer because of the shift button. Then you've got all them extra buttons below the knobs for cues or whatever takes your fancy!!![]()
MacBook Pro, HD25's, Midi-Fighter Classic, Pioneer DDJ-RX, Rekordbox
s4 has no option for 4 band EQ, just so you know.
hopefully tp2 will bring the xone eq back.
