Keep in mind with M-Powered, though, that you NEED to use M-Audio gear.
I'd really recommend learning the FL Studio workflow. It's a lot cheaper to get a larger guide for FL (which you already know how to use) if you are only concerned with vocal recording.

fl studio quality is no where near pro tools tho......i would invest the money and just get the pro tools with the mbox

While you're right, investing in M-Powered Pro-Tools is really limiting. I don't think the power is much better or worse than FLStudio. If we're talking about investing in a full pro-tools rig than yes, I agree, but that's a LOT of money.
With the right mastering effects and all I think FLStudio can go very far. Also, using Sonar, Cubase and the like can work very well also.
I think this is one of those things that really comes down to personal preference and workflow.
My issue with M-Powered is it's still a chunk of money to spend on something that can ONLY work with M-Audio products, which limits you to hardware, and I'm not a fan of that. I'd think you'd be better off getting Sonar, Ableton or Cubase and learning that for workflow.
Just my opinion, is all.

Dvls do you use fl studio?
Maybe the way i am recording could also be my problem. I record straight onto the playlist as an audio file.

I haven't used FL in a long time (my ex used it regularly). What do you think the problem is? you can assign basic effects to the recording process (slight reverb, maybe a little phase) to make the vocals sound a little bit more... big, right in the mixing board. I remember that much. Also, don't hesitate to use effects afterward. Maybe a high cut with no modulation to darken up the voice? I don't necessarily think just upgrading to Pro-Tools is going to make the recordings better.

Na i kinda have started to get decent recordings. Finally learned how to use a limiter a bit so i could cut out the noise and i do effect a lot afterward.
Its just the workflow of recording on it is very weird

I don't think it's any more weird than any other program. It's just a little different, but this is where preference comes in.
I'd also recommend researching the art of recording a bit more. It really helps. I've pushed the site before, but I can't even begin to express the help www.tweakheadz.com has been able to give me in production. Seriously, that site is priceless.
