Shouldn't you just be using a powered USB hub anyway? With power floating about 4 - 6v, with USB ports usually being 5v. Don;t see the LEDs much of a problem to be honest. Saying that, I don;t really understand the tech. Just trying to sound like I do!

I've used them, the power consumtion isn't noticeable, It's a tiny LED.
Live Gear : MacBook Pro 13" & 15" (depends which one I grab), Kontrol S4, Midi-Fighter, Shure SRH750DJ, Dedication.

i bought a few, but found that the build quality was really poor, and that,IMO they seemed more laggy than normal USB cables whether there is any merit to that or not, that is what I observed. I think i'm gonna check out the belkin ones and if they are cheap build then i'm just gonna give up on light-up usb cables.
