Shame on me, but I got a stupid noobie question. Again. I map directly on Traktor as I use Windows 7. I can´t change the controller range for most actions. It is 0-1 and I can´t change to someting like 0,12. What the fuck am I doing wrong?

By the way I found a solution for make a button blink on the launchpad just with traktor.

Flashing LED on a controller that only has on/off states (such as the VCI 100)

This is a cool technique I found in the forum, courtesy of bassmeekens

    • Set up the Play/Pause output as normal, but under the modifier conditions, set ‘is in loop’ and 0
    • Now create an output for beat phase meter
    • Map it to the same LED
    • Set the controller range min/max to 0/0.1 (the phase meter range moves up in decimals from 0 to 1)
    • Set midi range min/max to 0/127
    • Set modifier to ‘is in loop’ and 1
    • Uncheck invert and blend

Now when you hit the loop button on that deck, it changes the ‘loop mod’ state to 1 and this output map overrides the play/pause one, making your button flash!

    Took this from http://www.djtechtools.com/2010/05/3...ds-in-traktor/.

the controller range for any action that is binary with only ON and OFF states can only have a range from 0 to 1. ones like the beatphase monitor that you just mentioned has a much larger range.

So if I got this right: If a function has only ON and OFF, I cannot display OFF in light green and ON in bright green?

sure u can - this is the "controller range" not the "midi range" which is why they are different things. with 0 and 1 for controller ranges and 10 and 40 for the midi range then a controller value of 0 will send out a midi value of 10 and a value of 1 will send out a 40

I just don´t get it. If it is that way, then I don´t understand the table in this thread, e.g.

    Green
    Controller Range
    Min: 0.0 Max: 0.12
    Midi Range
    Min:32 Max: 0

    Yellow
    Controller Range
    Min: 0.0 Max: 0.35
    Midi Range
    Min:32 Max: 0

    Same midi range, different color!?

yep - because the controller range hits max earlier on so it maps to a different midi output. so the first one would be 12% of the max value and the 2nd one 35% of the max midi value. so u get a value of 3 (i think) for the first one and 11 for the second one. tho according to my notes 3 would be hi red and 11 would be flashing red - doesn't quite make sense? unless he was using flashing colors... also not sure why the midi range is inverted with a max of 0 and min of 32. i haven't tried mapping OUT's just within traktor for ages tho so could be missing something. u can always use something like midiox to check what midi is actually being output.

Aaaaaaah! Now I got it. Yeah! Thank you very much for this explanation.

Well I want to use only Traktor because I run a 32 bit Windows and I lack a lot of performance. And as I am not a tech hero at all I want to keep it as basic as possible. Some things for me are pretty clear, but some other, esp. like output mapping and some issues with modifiers (esp. conditions) confuse me a bit. But so far I was able to map and implement all the functions I wanted to do and the mapping works really great. It´s the first time for me that I set up a complete mapping, before I just did some modifications and added some extra functions.

it's worth getting your head around traktor mapping, tho i do think i've forgotten quite a bit now i don't really use it - and didn't get half as deep into it as some people on this forum. being able to create your own mappings that do exactly what u want is very cool anyway...
