    Heh, again..another underworld example.

Underworld uses reaktor inside of ableton. ^_^

It's especially great since it runs on a VST. if i have certain things that need reaktor, they can use it. But I can still use my favorite sidechain vst. or even my favorite vox filter running through ableton!

ableton is designed with live performance much more in mind. hence...live.

Check out the some of the appraoches used in videos i mentioned in this thread -

    http://www.djtechtools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2636

I actually came from producing wanting to learn more about djing yourself, if you want to go the same route i did you could pick up a copy of Ableton and learn the basics of tradional djing. After doing this you could start to combine both dj and production techniques into a set - taking the best parts of each and start bringing them together with your own touch(a nice long term goal to aim for).

If you have done enough production previously you will learning the techniques used by djs to be pretty simple - though of course pulling them off takes practice.

I really think knowing both production and djing helps you both improve your djing and improve your productions - its a great combinations of things to know.
