My bad, wasn't even trying, I own both windows and mac and love both. My advice on this subject is to call tech support, it's normally faster than trying yourself (unless it's a really sticky problem that outwits tech support). Good luck on figuring this out!

I love the fact that you can take your mac to a the apple and get face to face tech support and they will swap stuff out right at the store. For that I have no problem paying extra to have a working mac.
So I connected my Novation and that worked fine lol. I'm pretty sure it's the MacBook Pro though. Probably needs a lot more power usage for the Maschine since the Novation is powered (however I did not use it's AC adaptor when I tried it this morning and it still worked fine).

I'm taking the Maschine and MacBook Pro to Best Buy in the next hour and i'm going to try to connect my Maschine to another i7 that's there, see if it works. If it does, then i'll simply switch out the MacBook Pro, if it doesn't i'm taking my Maschine back to Guitar Center.

the maschine doesnt take that much power. the macbook pro's usb should be able to charge the iPads which takes the power of 2 usb devices. Im thinking its a bad usb port

That's what I think too, but wouldn't that not allow like my other stuff like Novation and what not to work? As in nothing should work if it's bad right?

I'm CCCing my MacBook right now and then i'll take it back. So either the MacBook is being replaced or the Maschine. Probably the MacBook, hopefully that too since it'll be easier for me.

If you plug the Maschine in and open Traktor does Traktor see it if you press the buttons to turn it to midi?

From what I hear the new MBP's(early 2011) boot into a 64-bit kernel by default, which has causes all sorts of problems from what I have been reading. Have you tried booting into 32-bit mode and seeing if the problem resolves itself?

^ try that. could also be a problem with the NI drivers being in 32bit (do not quote me) but its worth a try.

Wouldn't that effect Traktor too and not just Maschine? I'm just curious cause my S4 works like a charm. I'm going to try booting it in 32 bit mode. How do you do that? :P

Thanks Photo, as soon as this CCC thing is done i'll do that and try that. I remember reading on the NI forums some dude had the same problem but he was using Windows and someone else said the same thing about 32 bit and 64 bit, however I didn't think (idk why) didn't apply to us mac users.
