One main thing I noticed when I got my vci-100 was how much I hated Traktor LE. Get rid of it, upgrade or get your hands on traktor pro, get your hands dirty with midi mapping, and a whole new world shows up. Although, I never scratch, so I may be completely biased...

I don't know about the AK1 but I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to plug your speakers directly into your laptop's headphone jack (that's what I read from your description, which was a little bit hard to follow).

I then have the Audio Kontrol 1 output (3) plugged into the volume control of my speaker system.
    ???

Maybe you can make me a nice drawing of your setup and I'll understand.

    crispyb,

I have the AK1 and i'm not completely sure if Traktor 3 and Traktor Pro are the same output settings but in T3 i have the AK1 mapped as follows.

Master outputs are 3&4 AK1 channels
Monitor outputs are 1&2 AK1 channels

Play a track and you should get the sound coming from your main speakers and there should be no sound from the head phones. If this is the case then press the CUE button for the deck that is playing and you should then have sound through the phones. If not check your monitor mix knob and give it a twist. This should alternate between sound and no sound.

If you still have no sound there is a button in the headphone area of the AK1 that is monitor select 1/2-3/4. Press this and it should swap the channels from monitoring the main output and return it to the monitors.

Hope this helps otherwise just play with all the settings i have explained in this post until you get it working.
