Noisia dropped some weird hardstyle track in their set @ Phat09, at least it was some pounding track with hypercompressed 'hard' kicks. Was fucking weird, 1/2 way between DnB, Hardstyle, Electro and Breaks... either way it was FUCKING BANGING! I never thought I'd like 'hardstyle'-kicks but I want to play with them now. Drop them over some DnB and see what it does...hmmm or dubstep, that would be fucking oddd.
there is also jumpstyle which is somewhere between hardstyle and electro
can be cool
I think the beginning of hardstyle was more influenced by (uk) hardhouse and hardtrance,
nowadays its more going to hardcore. With all genres nowadays its also hard to put it in one box sometimes.
alot of the early pioneering hardstyle DJ's/producers come from hardcore backgrounds
eg. Zany, The Prophet, Isaac
