Sorta sucks that one of the biggest Electro acts in recent years don't care about the music.

Really well done, funny that Pit Bull came out as probably the best interviewee of the whole thing.
they didn't say that. they were asked what electro means to them..
it was a stupid question, how is someone supposed to answer that without coming off like a pretentious twat. gaspard was a good spot for humoring that kid with any answers.
with the exception of a few parts, i have to say that was one of the worst documentaries about dance music culture i've ever seen.
love most electro music.... but i have to say, that was extremely over hyped (perhaps a huge downfall to electro music in general), and in the end, just boring
I couldn't watch the whole thing, made me cringe to be honest, electro being used as a word where techno was used 10 years ago. Documentaries should educate but the guy
didnt seem to grasp that techno, house and electro are very different types of music that just happen to be created electronically, just like metal, country and indie are all guitar, drum kit and bass guitar based but very different.
And interview lots of photographers about music, the female photographer was hot but
didnt really add any new info, just eye candy.
Pitbull came off really well, as did armand van helden and a-trak. And given Justice's known temper problems, the guy was silly to think he could show up uninvited and get a useful interview.
props to pitbull, he knows how to play the industry, but still have respect for the music. i take back laughing at his versions of tracks and how he always makes one.
____
this guy (jeff meltz) is the only person i consistently told to shut the fuck up.

______
and lastly, what crack head played the most brostep track known to man just before the credits??????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????
______
all that being said, it was a good docu.
the guy who made this documentary didn't know what the fuck he was talking about. i knew it was going to be garbage when not even a minute into the thing it starts spewing baseless misinformation about the origins of electronic music - "it all started with the theremin..." ? really, the theremin?
did this clown even bother to do any research or was it all just based off hear-say he's accumulated from pilled out conversations with other clueless retards. soooo bad.
sooooo much hipster ass kissing.

Well, I believe the reason Gaspard was being a dick is because he was wasted. I went to that very same Justice (dj set) at Webster Hall party and watched the whole thing from pretty up close and Xavier was the one really djing while Gaspard was simply every 5 minutes or so seemed to "turn-ever-so-sightly" a knob. Compared to Xavier who looked sharp and concentrated, Gaspard eyes were simply fucked up.
That said, the documentary makes sense about Justice being pretty mainstream and important because that particular party had a waaaay different vibe compared to other EDM parties of less known dj's. The varied crowd like club kids, to guidos, hip-hop guys etc had a pretty dense atmosphere. I had fun but I wanted to be wasted but at $8 bottle of water and beer, $14 drinks I stayed sober.
Erase. Stop. Start.
from the pov of a justice fan, the doc worked.
im not a huge justice fan, though ive collected some tracks, and i thoroughly enjoyed the doc.
thanks for the link.
