8s are on Newegg for 200 apiece shipped. They're real loud and bass-y. Resell great too. Make sure you check the measurements--8s are bigger than you think.

yeah there are PLENTY of great monitors out there. You'll want more than 40w per speaker, frequency of 50hz or lower for the low end (don't worry about high end, all monitors give you enough high)... Forget those USB shits. JBL and Yamaha make some great ones. Mackies are decent. I'd avoid the low-priced M-Audios. Check out Sweetwater.com and read the reviews.

Possibly a sound card for just the studio

M-Audio Oxygen 49 USB MIDI Controller
Novation 25 SL MkII Keyboard Controller
    Alesis Q49

any recommendations or suggestion are welcome hopefully you guys can help me out with this thanks
    Studio Monitors: KRK Rokit 8's
    Keyboard: Alesis Q49
Sound Card... depends... are you going to record multiple musicians simultaneousy? Probably not due to acoustic concerns.. so just use your DJ sound card as long as it is decent quality with a midi interface like the ADJ8.
