so buy a powered USB hub. cheaper than a midi keyboard (as i just looked and my old yamaha has midi in/out -- but that thing was like $250-300 new) whereas my mpk mini and a nice powered USB hub was like $110 together.

i personally think you are making this much more complicated for yourself than you need to make it. -- your computer keyboard also can double as a piano keyboard -- just FYI
