you have four jogwheel channels per deckchannel also don't forget that you have got also the shift button per deckchannel. This litte things can give out so fu**ing many midicommands that i still don't understand why it isn't that well known in this forum.

To your other question. When i play at home i never use the external power device and there were never a problem. But at home i just use 2 stereo channels out of 5 (because the headphones have a seperate channel that you can use). When i play a gig i always have the external power device in it, because i run then 4 channels with the clubmixer. but i never tried if it would work also without the power device, safety first ^^

    best wishes from germany

Great to get that confirmed. Looks truly amazing for mapping!

Still not to keen on the click type buttons, but I might just have to get over that.

Also getting into using the midimasher app by zestoi here on the forums reduces the importance of good layer layout since you can set that up in the software.

Thanks for all your replies, will make my decision easier for sure!

How do you like the soundcard by the way? And are any of the knobs hardwired to handle the soundcard output or how is that done?

    cheers

soundcard is fine, It runs a little louder than the Audio 8, so is more inclined to distort when it is cranked up if you dont adjust the levels in the software to suit the output, but it's not really a big issue if your aware of it and turn it down a little. Oh yeah there is no hardwired knobs to control the audio output for either the decks or the headphones, it all has to be done in the software.

if they had pitch faders I would buy another 2 and use them with a mixer, but unfortunately It doesn't so I don't really use it. It was my intention to use it with the Digital Jokey 3, but because that only has two mixer channels it's not really an option for me.

Also the led light rings around the top 4 encoders are a great feature, although Unless you have the controller positioned on an angle, they're pretty much useless as you cant really see them very well if your less that 2 feet higher than the controller.

It's still a great controller, but could definately be improved upon.

sorry i gave you wrong information ^^ the jogwheel has even 5 jogchannels per deck. when none of the jogmodes is selected the jogwheel is mapped to controll the volume fader.

What do you mean by 'click type' - are they totally plastic and hard to push?

they aren't plastic, they are rubber and very easy to push. They don't feel as good as my launchpad buttons but are better to push.

sorry to keep bothering you guys about this.

But I have one more q about how the layers are working.

Does the deck select buttons also choose which fx unit is controlled and then the numbers are to activate fx on the current deck.

Or is the numbered buttons select which fx unit is in use separate from the deck...

Think I already know the answer, just wanna get this right before I order a couple.

    cheers

    and happy new year!

you may have it right but i may didn't understand you (i'm from germany) so i just describe how it works :P

Right from the Trax encoder you chose the deck, left from the encoder you chose which fx banks that are activated to the selected deck.

now to change the fx parameters with the minifaders you also have to jump through the deck layers. the layer of deck A controls the fx bank 1, the layer of deck B controls the fx bank 2 etc.

btw. i may upload my own mapping here in the forums in two weeks or something. it uses the shiftbutton and brings things like jogwheel controlled effects.
