very true. I only saw a few guys using them here in the city with Serato and wondered about them. I actually thought they would make their own noise, but many sites endorse. I've also seen ones where the whole cable glows and blinks when data is transfered. I guess it all for show. Yet, the security of knowing it's plugged in? Like you said, I'd rather get the better cable. I don't know enough about specs to know if those internal ferrite cables are worth it, but thought I'd share.

Yeah those ferrite impregnated cables are probably pretty decent.

Though Im not sure if having ferrite over the whole surface of the cable is really any better, thats more shielding than filtering

I would lose my mind if the damn cable glows, when I play in clubs I usually have to turn the brightness of my macbook, and the I turn on my SE (the deathstar) and it nearly blinds me.

Now add a glowing usb cable, plus some jagerbombs & its over!

Aren't they needing to be filtered because they weren't shielded? I'm not trying to be a wise ass...I really don't know... I assume that if the whole cable is shielded, it would be better. But noobs always assume

USB 2.0 standard compliant cables have to be shielded anyway, this is normally achieved using copper foil wrapped around the inner conductors, using ferrite in the same manner shields rather than filters.

Though I gotta think bout that some more, maybe using ferrite as a shield has some advantages over copper foil.

They both protect against different types of interference, what the coppershielding doesnt protect you from the ferrite will.
