multicore is actually a really general term within electronics and cabeling for cables with multiple cables inside them. it exists for audio as it exists in high voltage power cables.

I actually tripped over a big P.A multicore at a festival in Summer. I went head over arse and threw my S4 flightcase into a speaker stack.

It was a very thick multicore......... and i was drunk.

those are a real joy. i work as a light technician as a side job and it's always fun when your boss tells you to grab a few of them and lug them from one tree to another.

however i didn't want to derail here.

    Default like they said

multicore cables make it easy on cdjs to switch the selector on the mixer so you can switch easily between timecode and audio cds.
they saved our ass last saturday when switching djs. never switched in mid set before. we were able to switch to an audio cd, unplug my TA6, plug in the SL1, and go.
for our club, we just have the multicore cables hanging out the back of the mixer so each person over the week can plug his own gear in without having to unhook the crap out of everything.
for a single user setup like yours, not sure how useful it would be

I do plan on using it in the clubs so changing over from Dj to Dj is important.

I don't see any difference to be honest in standard RCA cables and these 'multicore' ones.

Surely when I turn up to a gig, I'm gonna have to start unplugging and plugging whatever the situation.
