I dont see the issue.
If you play your first track from either A or B it will always toggle back to A or B hence the name Toggle Last Focus.
If you on the wrong deck somehow accidently, its just pressing one buttom to get on the right focus.
K.I.S.S :-)
That would defeat the purpose of getting it all to work on only 1 button. And if by chance you accidentally got to focus on C or D, you would not only need to refocus onto A, you would also need to focus on B next, so that the TOGGLE, went between those two. If 2 buttons were available, hell, make them Direct A and Direct B. No Modifiers. No fixing. Otherwise, I'm still going to stand by the modifier method, as it's what I've been using. Also the modifier sets grounds for tasks such as turning FX Units on/off in the mixer in relation to deck focus, since "Deck Focus Is:X" isn't a modifier condition. (As a side note, this method is used in DJTT's MF Deckalized Focus Mapping, if anyone has been questioning it's validity.)
No, thats exactly the reason to use it on one button. Have you tried it?
But just a minute dude. The OP said he uses decks A & B.
The Toggle Last Focus will not select Decks C & D if they are not shown and thus not accidently used.
Remember we are referring to the OPs question NOT what you use or what decks you use or what mapping you use. We are answering the OPs question.
The OP specifically states Decks A & B and my solution is perfect for that use.
Completely valid. If there's no way that C&D could accidentally be selected, you're solution is perfect. Haha. Agreed, I'm making this a little harder than it needs to be. I was giving some room for the fact that C&D may be sample decks (totally logical reason to make another controller only focus on A&B. It's the reason I did it, after all.) But you are right, that wasn't mentioned, and thus your solution is the "KISS" method.
To be truly honest, i started mapping your modifier solution last nite before i remembered the Toggle Focus command...
Sometimes we over think things cus we can !!!!
And again, it wouldn't necessarily be over-thinking if you were to use it to do things such as turn on the desired FX on the Deck in Focus, and Off for all other Decks. (Straight outta the same mapping.)
