The IQ2 Midi is quite possibly my favourite piece of Reloop gear. Unfortunately, it's out of my pricerange so I ended up buying the RMX-40 instead, but if I had £400 to spend on a mixer, it'd be the ONLY one I even considered.

Everything's MIDI-mappable, and you can use it as either an internal-mode control surface, or a traditional external-mode mixer. You can even use the FX unit controls to manipulate loops, Traktor FX, etc. It also eliminates the need for a separate audio interface as you can set the outputs to either separate A/B channels on the mixer through USB, or master/monitor.

I'm also FAIRLY certain it works as a DVS interface with VDJ/Mixxx, unlike the RMX-40.

When I plugged everything together with the new IQ2 + 1's and 2's, both with timecode vinyls I realized it doens't provide the DVS functionality and had this confirmed by several forum threads, so if you still plan on getting one mostly for running DVS, you'll certainly need to get also one of those DVS kind of external soundcard like in my case I got NI Audio6.

I was quite disappointed when I found this, but I should have done a bit more research on it. Anyway now I'm enjoying this mixer with the TTs and NI-A6, it works like a charm.

Could you elaborate on WHY it doesn't work as a DVS? It provides 2 USB input channels so it should work fine... :-\

Unless it's the same setup as the RMX-40 USB, in that it provides 1 channel of input and then a master feed on the second USB channel.

I think he means with Traktor. It's not an NI certified soundcard. Should work with the like of VDJ, Mixxx etc..

Well, then the question is what model of IQ2 are you talking about... there's like 3 different types I'm aware of.

IQ2+ - no USB nor MIDI ports.
IQ2+ USB - 2 separate USB ports.
IQ2 Midi - 1 USB port

It's true I haven't tried to set it up with VirtualDJ or Mixxx or any other kind of DJ software.

I was close to pulling the string on this mixer but they're 3 things with this mixer that concern me.

1) Booth output isn't variable. The Master and Booth outputs are both controlled by the same "Volume Knob". I like to record my mix and need the flexibility to be able to adjust that output without it effecting the main output. My $180 Behringer NOX404 has a separate "Aux Out" volume knob.

2) I can't stand the headphone Que/Monitor setup on the reloop. You have to un-press one side, in order to not hear both channels at the same time on your headphones. So monitoring involves; unpressing the current channel, and then select the channel you want to monitor. Why not just have a fader? Slide it left for the "A" Channel, Slide it right for the "B" channel, Leave it in the middle if you want to hear both. And guess what? My $180 Behringer has a fader to monitor the channels.

3) No XLR. The Reloop does have balanced 1/4 inch. So I'd have to purchase new cables. If this were the only issue I would get the mixer. But the above two (especially 1) kills it for me. And Yes, My Behringer has Balanced XLR outputs.

Which leads me to this; I've been looking to replace my Behringer NOX404 for over 2 years now. The mixer works fine and I love it, It just looks out of place with the rest of my setup SC-3900/X1/F1. But the more I look, the more I realize that there isn't a Mixer out today that checks all of the boxes that need to have checked, except the Behringer.

There isn't a single mixer out there that has these 4 features(except Behringer):

1) Separate Volume for Aux Out
2) Fader for headphone monitoring. Not that push button mess
3) On board effects.
4) Two Channels only (but also AUX input)

I considered the Denon X600 (Still close to getting it) but it has that push button que monitoring crap. And also has the power cord connected to the unit. All my components have a removable power cord. I guess this shows the age of the unit.

I considered the Pioneer Traktor mixer, but that doesn't have built in effects.

The reloop is out of the question because of what I mentioned above.

I'm at an age now where I can be a little stubborn. I'm not going to ever replace my behringer NOX 404, unless the replacement does everything that my $180 mixer does. As it stands now, there isn't a single mixer at any price that does everything the Behringer does.
