Buy a big head shaped funky design .... I dunno something like a mouse
No that's crap......
How about a dead mouse

Op, don't just take this thread as your deciding factor. Research, and research, and research. Read lots, you don't want to drop $1000 on cdjs only to find out that you want to use a controller. Read as much as you can, on this forum, and anywhere else. There is LOTS of information around. When you have narrowed your options down to a few choices, and have done your research on those choices, AND played with those choices at the store, buy one of them and practice religiously. This isn't a cheap hobby, but it is VERY rewarding. Remember though, all of this comes with a high pricetag, so don't take one thread as the be all end all.
Edit: +1 Bassline. We have pretty much said the same thing. Just goes to show, don't jump in headfirst until you know the water........
thanks for really helping me out that means a lot, not like the others who write stupid things for no reason, why not just not post at all?
ANYWAYS, yes i am going to research and research, i believe i will go to guitar center tomorrow and see if they have some nice dj stuff i can take a look at
but yes, i love to listen music and make music, and i want to dj, i dont want to be considered a dj, but i obviously need to learn in order to play at parties, clubs, etc.
look on ebay and try to pick up a cheap djm 400 if you arent wanting to fork out a fortune for a 800 or 900
One other thing to think about, from a producer who went into DJing years ago...
If you're like me, you probably have one or more MIDI controllers that you're using for production. If you go the controller route, all you'd need to start is a Traktor-supported soundcard and a copy of the software. You can then map your existing MIDI controllers in Traktor and start using them immediately, with the option to add CDJs or additional controllers as you see fit. That might be a little cheaper than buying 2 CDJs and a mixer off the bat, particularly if you have already invested in MIDI.
