Or if you really want to screw with their head you lowball them from two alternate emails/identities over several days and then proceed to negotiate a deal with them, then when he thinks he is still coming out ahead you arrange a fake meeting with the second identity where said second identity using a google voice phone number then proceeds to stand them up. Optionally you can tie this into messing with ticket scammers on craigslist and have the two meet each other (bonus if you get as many scammers as possible looking for each other and they have each other's pictures thinking they are really looking for you). If you have a friend who has nothing better to do this can be even more entertaining. Then a day later after they are so fed up with getting jerked around on craigslist they re-list it for a more reasonable price and you make them a fair offer and get the item you want for what it's worth. No big deal.

Just experienced this from a guy on here, I informed him that a new mixer went for the same price as the used one he had, he told me to buy a new one then... so I did

I laugh my ass off when people get emotionally invested in business transactions.

Good luck to 'em i say, just because you are clued up on the price dont mean that some fool that can be easily parted from his money aint gonna rock up.

Dont get mad with the seller and fire off emails with links to cheaper gear, just buy the cheaper gear in the first place and save your blood pressure.
If the guy doesnt sell his overpiced gear thats his lookout not yours.

And another point, a lot of married guys say to their partner yeah i'll sell that old DJ shit that you found so attractive in me when we met dear, its advertised right now look...
Yeah- sure is! Advertised at price knowing full well it will never get a buyer...
