man I had the virus and it was no joke, any usb thumb drive that you hooked up got infected and they next computer that you tired to hook it up to would have the same problem if you didnt have a decent AV.

This might be over hyped but it is by no means bullshit, if you read any tech forum/ blog you will have seen it mentioned.

The hype is over the fact that when you decompile the virus you can see that it is designed to contact any of the many thousands of servers that this thing has setup around the world on April 1st 2009.

If you install patches and take all the usual basic precautions your computer will be sweet though.

It's one of the sturdiest worms/virusses around at the moment, so by any means it's real.

The 1st of April contacting? Don't know really.

I still think, this is the ultimate worm/virus for any Dubstep addict.

I had it and had to manually remove it. Then the press coverage encouraged a lot more "how to remove it" tutorials to pop up that made it a lot easier to track down. MS has free removal tools if you care to update (or can even access those AV sites, given that the rootkit blocks access to them...).

Some of those rootkits are NASTY to get at, like having to kill explorer.exe just to see if they exist.
