The NS6 and 4Trak have different firmware, and the 4Trak has been specifically optimised for Traktor. It's always the jog wheels that cause the issues, and that I suspect will be the big difference.

I purchased the NS6 to use with Traktor - and that is what I use it for now but this news is a bit unsettling for me due to this fact.

That looks pretty good, finally a really well built all in one traktor controller if that is the case.

Functionally I loved the S4, but it feels like a toy and I would not want to take it with me if I was doing small bar type gigs. The NS6 is the only real quality feeling portable all in one controller currently.

I completely agree. When I first started this elaborate journey of researching controllers vs upgrading my DJ setup, the NS6 appealed to me most as it was solid build quality, didn't look like a toy, was a standalone mixer with booth outs, and was a spread out layout with little to seemingly interfere. The fact I wasn't a fan of Itch's effects section was a complete turn off, and let it fall by the wayside in my research process.

It seems as though they listened to the NI Traktor consumer who was screaming out for the thinkgs (Dutch for 'things' ) mentioned above prior to NI doing it.

Oh, if ONLY Allen&Heath would produce a similar unit in this price point with incorporating their amazing filters, EQ section, and sound quality. It would be a dead lock for me. With the DX being discontinued, it isn't too much to ask, is it?

Hmmm... I'd say that's a question for Numark. I can't see it happening though. Numark will want you to buy their proper Traktor controller rather than hack an NS6.

That is what I was afraid of. Guess it's time to go ahead and sell my NS6.

We'll need some guys to get the firmware from the 4trak and find out how to port/upload it to the ns6.. almost like djtechtools did with the vci-100. shouldn't be so difficult.

tryed the 4trak map on my ns6 last night.. the most basic funktions worked fine, but others didn't.. i would bet on that almost eveything would work fine if the ns6 firmware would get an update. numark isn't producing 2 different products, but one and then put different firmware in it + eq bar for the 4trak controller. really looking forward to NAMM now ;P
