    I am currently working on an ableton live set up, I am going to get a 4 channel mixer likely a used djm 600/700 and a soundcard to output to the 4 channels. I have the apc40 to controll ableton. This will likely break your budget but could be something you build up to over time.

    yep, if you gonna get a mixer, you will need the large sound card to be able to route fully.

    I would either get a midi capable mixer ($$$) or a controller. Like the VCM600 etc.

    Think about how you want to dj with Ableton and buy something that facilities that. Ableton is such a versitile program that you can do practically anything you want
