I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.

Twice a week and pretend to be booked out the other two so you can charge twice as much for the first two

lol, is this a serious question?

If you want more money, book more gigs. If you don't want more money, do not book more gigs.

    /thread.

I say stick with two and struggle for money.

Your thread still makes little sense.

Can we use the word gigs instead of gigging, It's killing me.

    4X Times a week = $$$$
I know with all these "DJs" now taking gig for free, DJ pay has gone down. But back in the 90's, getting $300-$500 a night is pretty standard for club resident. When I lived in CA I went from Thurs to Sun. Every night, 5 hour sets in 3 different clubs. It was good money. But shit got old after a year. Sometimes your sets would become a blur cause you would play the same shit every time. If its what's hitting, its what you play to keep the crowd on the floor unfortunately. Even if you do hear it over and over and over. I think the perfest balance is 1-2nights a week. You still get a chance to practice and have some time off. Up until I quit my current residency to weeks ago, I was doing 2 nights a week and holding down a day job. That was definitely busy, but still fun. Very little time to practice though, so for the most part I just listen to new tunes and get to know them and use my club playing as "practice"

i have plenty of work during the day producing, and helping out others. but sitting behind the decks is better then sitting in a cubicle...

more gigs = more money = more gear = more option = more to learn = more to carry = more set up = more can go wrong = bad back = less joy on free time = less chances of other jobs = sitting infront of facebook when time as DJ has passed.

I would play gigs every day if I could. But too much of anything can be bad over a long period of time. If you are still young and it's only during summer I would def go for the extra 2 nights.
