So the Ecler is a solid, safe choice?

dude... check craigslist for a djm 707. Underated mixer with a fantastic xfader. Your into hip hop so I think that would serve you well.

I got a used one for like 220 3 years ago after someone jacked my trusty vestax 05pro and im tellin you it's a dope mixer especially for the price you can get them for.

I woudln't call Ecler a safe choice, but they're good mixers. I seriously considered getting one instead of my 004xl…it was mostly just money that stopped me. That and the fact that I don't believe in MIDI on DJ mixers (because you get used to it and then don't have it at gigs…just like I don't believe in Scratch Certified mixers).

Ecler does not support their dj line anymore. I would stay away from them. I am a vestax fanboy also, so I would go that route.

It's old. And Vestax. And 19" wide (plus the ears).

Vestax has made a lot of good mixers over the years. Differences between them are pretty small other than the fact that some of them run audio through the faders and others use VCAs. You have to clean the former more often, and eventually the faders wear out.

I haven't used that model, but it probably feels a lot like every other vestax.

Yea, I've actually got a 19" Rack Mount Coffin, so it would fit perfectly, plus, only $90.
