    The other thing is that the RCA outs on the Audio 8 DJ seem much more club mixer friendly, eliminating the need of reductions from the big jacks on the FW410.

    It also seems to have 8 RCA inputs, does this actually mean that they can be used freely? Given a suitable mixer, could I record back 4 stereo channels (for studio mixes)?

    I'm only talking about the soundcard, already powering the VCI via USB and it's fine.

    In club settings, there just often isn't enough time to mess around and set up all the things when playing after a traditional DJ, the keyword is easy and fast. Plus travelling on a plane with all those extras cables and stuff is not easy - I never check-in bags as they get lost too often, need to have everything in one compact backpack - laptop, VCI, soundcard, cables and backup CDs.
