    Karlos is right though!

Buying the full proper version of anything is the best thing to do however, just using a crack version just to see if it's what u want isn't a and idea as at least you won't hundreds out of pocket if u don't like it!

    Stop the waffle luke!

R2 - yeah it is cool man, vci 100 Essex boys lol !

I come to realize last night that u can't do that much with LE ! I need to get my ass in gear and buy MBP and traktor pro !

What r u using at the moment R2 and Karlos ?

Yeah i set up LE on my brother's pc so he can preview tracks and mixes before he burns them off for his cdj's . Does the job but pretty freakin basic. was a pain in the ass to get registered too!

I am using Traktor Pro (legit version )

Black Vci-100 with 1.3 firmware and overlay

White macbook new version with nvidia graffix 2 gig ram ( on a budget but very happy with it )

My sound card is an M-audio Connectiv I used to Torq as my main software with time code and Technics before moving Traktor pro. I still have the option to use Torq which is cool but it hardly gets fired up nowdays.

I know what you mean about cracks its def better to buy the software esp dj software as you need it to be stable.

all in all very happy with my set up par the sound card def need to get me a firewire soundcard asap and macbooks really do not have enough usb ports esp as I have a few ext drives

    Traktor Scratch Pro
    Technics 1210s (Ortofon Qberts carts)
    Pioneer CDJ 1000mk3s
    Allen & Heath 62
    Macbook Pro 2.16 3gb ram
    VCI 100 FW1.2
    Faderfox DX2
Audio 8 DJ soundcard (for timecode)
    Presonus Firebox (for controllers)

Obviously not all at once. I use whatever i need for any particular gig.
The VCI is brand new so its my pet project at the moment. I wanna use it at my Monday gig where its just laptop and contoller. I just cant make my mind up on the tsi and layout. Think ive finally got it done but the problem with the effects button with FW1.2 is pissing me off so im gonna get a Kit asap to free that button up.
FW1.4 sounds great i cant wait for that. I actually really like mapping contollers and making new TSIs.

LE really is basic but its meant to be. Its a starter program thats FREE and its a great way to upgrade to PRO. I dont see any other company chucking out free software that you actually use (yes the NS7 comes with itch but , hello, price!!!).

I dont think it matters what you use as long as you it serves your needs.
Ive got a great setup but it evolved over a long time . You just get what you can when you can.

    Hi!

I'm in the same case as the original poster (lucjey boy?)

I have the black VCI since one week now, and it's really great. (just the pitch faders lacking some precision, I can only set a 0,2 pitch shift minimum in traktor LE, not 0,1... but the sync option comes to help in those cases...)

Traktor LE does the job at first, but I feel the need to upgrade to access the fully assignable midi parameters (2 decks are fine for me, since I also run my ableton live set simultaneously).

I have the possibility to buy a cheap licence of traktor 3 (60 euros)

or upgrading from LE to PRO (99 euros).

for now I don't know what to choose, as I can still see there are some major problems with traktor PRO... (playlist/browser not so good as in T3, id3 tag problems, ...)

    I guess I'll wait NI releases T PRO 1.2 ... ?

    any advice fellows?

    cheeers

At this point, I'd spend the 40 Euros and get Pro. It's solid, stable, and there's not reason to spend the money on T3 to just upgrade to TPro.

    Good luck to you guys.

im at the stage now that i might upgrade to pro using my laptop ( running vista - shite )
as LE is great for basic mixing and to throw a bit of flanger but thats all!!

Only thing is, when i get my mac book pro will i be able to use PRO even though its already on my other laptop ?

A big fat YES to that. You get the licence to install Traktor on 2 machines and the install disk contain Mac and PC versions. If you buy the PC download version you can also download the Mac version from the Support Section on the NI website.

    All good.
